THE EVOLUTION OF JURISPRUDENCE SCIENCES IN OMAN IN THE 16th CENTURY – ENCYCLOPAEDIC WRITING AND COMPARATIVE JURISPRUDENCE

This conference discussed the origin of the jurisprudence encyclopaedias in the Islamic world and the way and purpose of writing encyclopaedias. Some studies were conducted on some Omani encyclopaedias such as Bayan Al Sharea, Al Musanaf and Al Dhiaa, in which the mindset of authors and their tolerance in mentioning the opinions of those who have different point of views were apparent. Encyclopaedias demonstrated, also, the nature of comparative jurisprudence for Omanis.
