Kyoto: June 2014
The Dochicha University of Kyoto, with its 240,000 students, is the main academic institution in Japan, and hosted an unprecedented initiative in the Far East, an exhibition on Islam during the 46th exhibition on the message of Islam and religious tolerance in Oman.
The purpose of this cultural event was the dissemination of the principles of coexistence and understanding between peoples preaching Islam and at the same time meet the expectations of Japanese eager to know in depth the foundations of this religion, said Professor Katachiro Kohara, Director of the Monotheistic Studies Centre. He commended, in this regard, the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman in spreading the message about tolerance in Islam.
The 25 works in the exhibition presented in Kyoto provided an answer to the meditations of visitors who question the success of the various components of Omani society to live in harmony and peace. They reflected sequences of daily life, the place of women in the socio-political development and the role of moral values in strengthening the concept of coexistence, understanding and cordiality among all citizens of Oman.Kyoto: June 2014
